Haivyn (Daisy) Sanchez (b. 1998, Fresno, CA) is a ceramicist and culinary designer whose practice begins in the earth and ends at the table. She designs contemporary tableware and multi-functional forms that carry the warmth of soil, the salt-speckled light of the California coast, and the visual memory of the Central Valley’s agricultural landscape. Sanchez's work is built and finished by hand, and the evidence of that, a slight asymmetry, a thumbprint in the clay, a ruffled rim that never quite repeats, is never corrected out. It is the point. The organic irregularity of something grown rather than manufactured.
Her refined forms reference vintage dessert-ware in a contemporary material vocabulary. Resisting singular use: cake stands invert to become fruit bowls. This belief - that elegant objects should serve the full arc of life, not only its celebrations - earned a nomination for the 2025 Isola Tableware Design Award. Designing for the table, she treats it as a space of connection, where handmade objects turn shared meals into something closer. She has exhibited in Los Angeles (2026) and Mexico City (2024).
